Overview
The Legal Data Analytics Specialist supports corporate Legal Department’s data and analytics initiatives across litigation, investigations, privacy, data protection, information governance, and legal operations. This role plays a key part in helping the Legal team leverage data to improve decision-making, streamline processes, and enhance compliance and risk management.
The successful candidate will combine technical data expertise with a solid understanding of legal workflows—designing queries, formatting search terms, running analytics, and developing insights that drive efficiency and accountability within the Legal function.
Responsibilities
Data Search and Query Design
- Develop, test, and optimize search terms and queries for litigation, investigations, and regulatory responses to ensure accuracy and defensibility.
- Partner with internal and external eDiscovery, privacy, and investigations teams to refine search strategies and manage data sets effectively.
Legal Analytics and Reporting
- Design and execute analytics to identify trends, metrics, and improvement opportunities across Legal Department activities
- Build and maintain dashboards and data visualizations that communicate key insights to legal and business stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, IT, Privacy, Data Protection, and Information Governance to align data practices and ensure consistency with enterprise standards.
- Act as a liaison between Legal and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable data requirements.
Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline legal data workflows – with an emphasis on review and production.
- Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of legal technology tools and analytics platforms.
- Support knowledge management and the development of analytics best practices within the Legal team.
Data Governance and Compliance
- Ensure all data handling, storage, and analysis comply with corporate privacy, data protection, and records management policies.
- Help define and uphold data quality standards, documentation, and governance protocols for legal data assets.
Qualifications
- JD or Paralegal certificate, or BS in relevant field: Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Management, Legal Studies, or Information Retrieval Sciences, among others), or equivalent Minimum Experience
- a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, preferably supporting legal, compliance, or risk functions in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in query and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, or Elasticsearch).
- Experience with eDiscovery and legal data tools (e.g., Relativity, Nuix, Reveal, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of data privacy, data protection, and information governance concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business recommendations.

- Advise internal teams on existing strategies, workflows, solutions and develop new ones
- Extensive experience in Relativity UI
- Proven work experience in the eDiscovery industry
- Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Suite
