Elam & Burke, P.A. is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our dynamic and fast-paced Civil Litigation and/or Workers' Compensation practice. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative legal environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a legal assistant in civil litigation
- Workers' compensation experience preferred, but not required
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a high-pressure setting
Key Responsibilities
- Professionally manage client communications while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Coordinate and maintain attorney calendars, including court appearances and filing deadlines
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Manage electronic and physical case files
- Provide support across practice areas as needed
Required Skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Exceptional proofreading and document production skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client service
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, transcription, and electronic filing systems
- Familiarity with legal case management software and e-discovery tools
