To support this vision, we are seeking an experienced IT Systems Specialist to help ensure our Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms are secure, reliable, well-governed, and aligned with business and community needs.


The Opportunity:

The IT Systems Specialist is responsible for the administration, configuration, support, and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 and Azure services with a primary focus on SharePoint Online and collaboration tools.

Working closely with the IT Lead, you will strengthen governance, enhance security, and support both FNCIAS staff and Member Nations through modern collaboration technologies.

This is a hands-on technical role suited for a systems thinker who thrives in structured, governance-driven environments.


This position is permanent Full-time and located in Saskatoon SK.


Key Responsibilities Include:

SharePoint Administration

  • Administer and support SharePoint Online sites, hubs, libraries, lists, and content architecture
  • Design and maintain provisioning standards, templates, and governance policies
  • Manage document lifecycle (creation, ownership, retention, archival)
  • Implement and manage permission models (SharePoint groups, M365 groups, Azure security groups, sensitivity labels)
  • Configure metadata, versioning, content approval, and publishing features
  • Conduct quarterly access audits and remediation
  • Act as primary contact for SharePoint issues (including Microsoft escalation)
  • Develop and maintain training materials for FNCIAS and Member Nations

Microsoft 365 & Azure Administration

  • Administer Microsoft 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, M365 Groups)
  • Manage collaboration settings (external sharing, guest access, Teams policies, DLP)
  • Administer Entra ID identities, RBAC, MFA, Conditional Access, and SSO integrations
  • Oversee user lifecycle processes and privileged access practices
  • Maintain documentation and continuously identify improvement opportunities

Systems Administration & Support

  • Manage assigned business applications and systems for availability and performance
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity

Security & Compliance

  • Develop and implement IT security policies and protocols
  • Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities
  • Maintain patching and vulnerability remediation practices
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and regulatory requirements
  • Provide monthly security reporting

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business and community needs
  • Support IT communications related to maintenance and system updates
  • Contribute to value-added IT improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Core Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years administering Azure, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint in an enterprise environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • SharePoint permission models
    • Information architecture (metadata, hubs, content types)
    • M365 tenant governance
    • Entra ID identity & access fundamentals (MFA, RBAC, Conditional Access)
  • Experience troubleshooting across the Microsoft 365 stack
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting/automation
  • Strong documentation, communication, and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes and tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)


Assets (Not Required but Considered Strongly):

  • Power Platform governance (Power Automate, Power Apps)
  • Microsoft Purview (retention, sensitivity labels, audit, eDiscovery)
  • Intune device management
  • Microsoft certifications (MS-102, MS-700, SC-300, AZ-104)
