Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Google Workspace Deployment Engineer to join our dynamic delivery team. In this client-facing role, you will be the primary technical authority responsible for the end-to-end planning, design, and execution of Google Workspace deployments and migrations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Google Workspace expert with a proven track record of successfully migrating organizations from legacy platforms (like Microsoft 365/Exchange, Lotus Notes) and deploying secure, scalable, and efficient Google Workspace environments.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to our clients, guiding them through complex technical challenges and ensuring a smooth transition to Google Workspace. This position requires a blend of deep technical expertise, project execution discipline, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Technical Deployments: Architect and execute comprehensive Google Workspace migration and deployment projects, from initial technical discovery and assessment to post-launch support.
  • Migration Strategy & Execution: Design and implement detailed migration plans for email, calendar, contacts, and files from various source platforms. Perform hands-on data migrations using industry-standard tools (e.g., CloudM, BitTitan MigrationWiz, Google's native tools).
  • Google Workspace Administration: Configure and optimize the Google Workspace Admin Console based on client requirements and industry best practices. This includes setting up organizational units (OUs), user provisioning, security policies, data loss prevention (DLP), device management, and mail routing.
  • Identity & Access Management: Implement and configure directory synchronization using tools like Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS) and configure Single Sign-On (SSO) with third-party identity providers (e.g., Okta, Azure AD).
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues that arise during deployment, including mail flow problems, DNS configuration (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and migration failures.
  • Client Consultation & Advisory: Conduct technical workshops with client stakeholders to gather requirements, present proposed solutions, and provide expert guidance on Google Workspace features and security best practices.
  • Documentation & Training: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including solution designs, configuration guides, and migration runbooks. Deliver technical training sessions to client IT staff.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers, Sales Engineers, and other internal teams to ensure project success and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Google Workspace Administrator or Deployment Engineer
  • Demonstrable experience leading at least two full-cycle Google Workspace migrations from Microsoft Exchange/Microsoft 365 or another enterprise platform
  • Deep expertise in configuring and managing the Google Workspace Admin Console, including core services (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Meet), security settings (2-Step Verification, Context-Aware Access), and reporting
  • Familiarity with advanced Google Workspace features such as Google Vault for eDiscovery, Endpoint Management, and advanced security center settings
  • Hands-on experience with third-party migration tools (e.g., BitTitan MigrationWiz, CloudM, Quest) and/or Google’s native migration tools (e.g., GWMME)
  • Strong understanding of email protocols and DNS records, including MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
  • Proven experience in a client-facing role with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to client meetings, conferences, and company gatherings approximately 10% of your time
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
