About the Opportunity

Connexus Hub is building our team of FOIA Analysts in anticipation of a federal contract award to support the  Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program in the Washington, DC metro area.

If you have a strong track record processing federal FOIA requests and are looking for meaningful, mission-driven work supporting one of the nation’s most recognized agencies, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

As a FOIA Analyst, you will help meet statutory FOIA obligations from intake through release, including:

  • Receiving, logging, and assigning incoming FOIA requests in FOIAXpress, and issuing acknowledgement letters
  • Identifying offices, personnel, and park units likely to hold responsive records, then tasking and tracking searches to completion
  • Guiding and training record custodians on proper search and documentation practices
  • Determining when a request qualifies for eDiscovery search options
  • Gathering, organizing, and converting responsive documents (including attachments) to PDF
  • Reviewing records for responsiveness, applying the appropriate FOIA and Privacy Act exemptions, and redacting protected information
  • Preparing agency responses that clearly explain the basis for any withholdings
  • Coordinating with component offices and tracking cases from intake through delivery

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in analytical and administrative support services, including advanced skill processing records for release under the FOIA
  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Hands-on experience with electronic FOIA processing and e-discovery tools (FOIAXpress experience is a strong plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you can interpret requests, document casework clearly, and coordinate confidently with stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal HSPD-12 credential (must be able to pass a federal background investigation)

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience supporting a federal FOIA program, especially at a Cabinet-level or high-volume agency
  • Familiarity with FOIA policies and guidance
  • Experience handling complex, litigation-sensitive, or expedited FOIA requests
  • FOIA training or professional certifications
