The Enterprise IT Engineer III will work collaboratively to configure, deploy, and support QTS’s suite of enterprise messaging tools and applications. The engineer will act as subject matter expert in product evaluation, product development, and planning and implementation of new solutions while also ensuring the stability of existing platforms. This position will focus on the following technologies and services: Office 365 Design & Administration, Microsoft Exchange (online and on-prem), Azure AD design and connectivity, migration of services to O365, MDM/MAM, spam filtering, messaging systems(Slack, Teams), backup, and eDiscovery.

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

  • Hands-on management, administration, and troubleshooting of Office 365

  • Day-to-day administration of Exchange (Online & on-prem)and other messaging systems

  • Partner with Information Security to deploy and manage security tools, policies, and enhancements and operate in accordance with established policies and compliance frameworks

  • Support QTS’ Mobile Device Management in collaboration with MDM engineers

  • Participate in the evaluation, deployment ,and management of new technologies

  • Act as subject matter expert for related technologies

  • Assist and mentor other team members in their strategic and operational roles

  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact and communicate throughout the organization with individuals of varying technical abilities

  • Act as a technical point of contact to resolve escalated issues while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Six or more years of progressive IT experience in systems administration/engineering roles at an enterprise level

  • Experience implementing best practices related to email routing, filtering, monitoring, storage, backup, and replication

  • Understanding of mailbox migration process & mail flow between on-prem and Exchange Online.

  • Strong understanding of general IT security and network/cloud computing concepts

  • Familiarity with Microsoft scripting languages (VB Script, PowerShell, etc.)

  • US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five or more years in an Office 365 engineering role or equivalent Microsoft cloud services experience, and possess the following technical skills: O365 Conditional Access / ADFS (e.g. Claims Rules), Exchange Online, O365 Tenant to Tenant migration, M365 Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Azure AD, MFA (e.g. RSA, Duo), and MDM (e.g. WorkspaceOne, InTune)

  • Five or more years of experience in a Windows systems engineering role supporting Active Directory, and Exchange environments, both on-prem and online

  • Experience with Slack administration

  • Applicable Microsoft certifications, such as MCSA, MCSE, M365 Certifications

  • Experience working in a data center environment

  • Able to perform independently in an environment where documentation and documented procedures may not exist

  • Able to provide thought leadership based on best practices and mentorship for less experienced team members
