ABOUT THE ROLE

Step into a high-impact role where law, technology, and strategy converge. As eDiscovery Counsel, you’ll be the driving force behind complex discovery matters, leading with insight and precision across the full lifecycle of electronically stored information (ESI). Serving as a trusted advisor to case teams and clients, you’ll shape litigation strategy from day one—guiding preservation, collection, review, analytics, production, privilege, and defensibility through trial and beyond. This is a dynamic, client-facing leadership opportunity for a forward-thinking legal professional who thrives at the intersection of innovation, risk management, and high-stakes litigation.

  • Develop and execute tailored discovery strategies from early case assessment through production, trial, and post-trial phases.

  • Counsel case teams on preservation obligations, legal hold implementation, and the defensibility of collection and review methodologies.

  • Lead meet-and-confer negotiations on ESI protocols, search strategies, form of production, and proportionality considerations.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate discovery-related risks, including sanctions exposure and privilege waiver.

  • Advise on the identification of key custodians and data sources, spanning both structured and unstructured data environments.

  • Facilitate comprehensive data mapping initiatives with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Design and implement early case assessment strategies leveraging advanced analytics and technology-enabled tools.

  • Architect and oversee document review workflows, including responsiveness determinations, issue coding, confidentiality designations, and privilege analysis.

  • Establish and validate defensible review processes utilizing predictive coding, analytics, sampling methodologies, and statistical validation techniques.

  • Provide strategic guidance on privilege management, including log strategy, categorical logging, redactions, and clawback agreements.

  • Develop, manage, and report on discovery budgets, forecasts, and cost-control strategies.

  • Supervise review teams and coordinate seamlessly with internal resources and external vendors to ensure quality and efficiency.

  • Train and mentor attorneys and staff on eDiscovery best practices, litigation technology, and evolving workflows.

  • Stay at the forefront of developments in eDiscovery law, analytics, AI, and emerging technologies, integrating innovation into practice.

ABOUT YOU

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar, and admitted (or eligible for prompt admission) in the state in which you will be practicing.

  • 8–12 years of litigation experience with significant responsibility for discovery strategy, management, and execution.

  • Proven experience leading large-scale electronic document reviews and productions in complex matters.

  • Background in complex commercial litigation, regulatory investigations, and/or white-collar matters strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in client-facing advisory roles, including strategic counseling and direct engagement with senior stakeholders.

  • Deep expertise in ESI management, including preservation, collection, processing, review, and production workflows.

  • Advanced proficiency with leading review platforms and analytics tools (e.g., Relativity and comparable technologies).

  • Strong command of eDiscovery law, proportionality standards, and defensibility best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with TAR, predictive analytics, conceptual clustering, and emerging AI-driven review tools.

  • Extensive knowledge of privilege review processes, logging strategies, and risk mitigation.

  • Exceptional strategic judgment, leadership presence, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes matters simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
