Job Description
The primary duty of an E-discovery document reviewer is to evaluate documents and review and analyze data to determine whether the records are relevant to a particular case. The responsibilities of a document reviewer include highlighting and finding pertinent information that may need to be coded. E-discovery document reviewer works with electronic databases that can review documents faster and narrow down the number of pages that need to be read and studied.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Perform substantive document review over memos, letters, e-mails, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, and other e-documents, to determine whether the information responds to specific criteria on electronic discovery and case administration platforms.
- Analyze the responsiveness, confidential or privileged nature of documents.
- Modify your document analysis criteria to comply with the clientβs instructions.
- Comment on documents, summarizing their relevant points.
- Maintain a sustainable pace of documents reviewed within reasonable standards.
- Investigate the facts of each plaintiffβs case by interviewing them or their legal representatives.
- Examine documents relevant to the ongoing litigation that involves the application of legal and educational training.
- Complement the plaintiffβs responses with available record information on their authorization.
- Analyze and retain attorney-privileged information.
- Manage a varying number of cases assigned by their supervisors.
- Complete related tasks.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Current active membership and good standing with any State Bar.
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited Law School.
- Review documents for cases with a high volume of documents on eDiscovery platforms.
- Review and code documents for responsiveness, relevancy, confidentiality, issues, and privilege.
- Summarize, tab, highlight, chart, and collect information.
- Assist with the preparation of privilege and redaction logs.
- Create and manage reports.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Be resident of Puerto Rico.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Spend many hours reading documents in English through a PC.
- Bend, stoop, stand and sit for long periods.
- Lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
