The Senior Director, Internal Investigations leads the internal investigations function for PwC Acceleration Center India (AC India), ensuring allegations of misconduct are assessed and resolved promptly, fairly, and consistently in alignment with local and global requirements. This role sets the investigations strategy and operating model, strengthens investigation policies, procedures, and controls, and serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on sensitive, high-risk matters. The Senior Director leads and mentors a team of investigators and personally conducts complex investigations into alleged violations of law, regulation, and Firm policy. Through strong cross-functional partnerships, the role drives case quality, defensible outcomes, and program improvements that reinforce the Firm’s code of conduct and culture of integrity.

The Senior Director, Internal Investigations leads the Ethics & Compliance investigations function in AC India, ensuring allegations of misconduct are addressed promptly, fairly, and consistently across the organization. This role sets the investigations strategy and operating model, partners closely with US Ethics & Compliance, local legal, local human capital, and other stakeholders, and uses investigation insights to strengthen the ethics and compliance program and reduce enterprise risk.
- Lead the Ethics & Compliance Internal Investigations function, setting strategy, governance, and enterprise investigation standards aligned to local and global requirements, working closely with US Ethics & Compliance
- Oversee end-to-end investigations into alleged violations of law, regulation, and policy—from intake and triage through fact-finding, findings, discipline, remediation, and closure
- Establish and maintain investigation methodologies, playbooks, interviewing standards, documentation requirements, and quality assurance/peer review processes
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of investigators; set performance expectations, provide technical guidance, and build next-generation leaders
- Ensure independent, objective investigations, including matters involving senior leaders; manage conflicts and escalation pathways
- Partner with local legal team to manage privilege/work-product considerations, cross-border legal risk, and appropriate engagement of external counsel
- Oversee evidence management protocols, including data preservation/legal holds, chain of custody, and coordination with eDiscovery and digital forensics
- Drive consistent outcomes by partnering with US Ethics & Compliance, local human capital and local legal team on disciplinary frameworks, decisioning, and documentation, while safeguarding confidentiality and due process
- Implement and optimize hotline/intake channels, triage/routing, case categorization, and service-level expectations; monitor workload and cycle times
- Produce high-quality investigation reports and executive-ready summaries; deliver trends, insights, and root-cause analysis to inform risk mitigation and control improvements
- Collaborate across stakeholder functions (HR, Legal, Internal Audit, IT, Security, Finance, Procurement, Privacy) in AC India and the PwC US as appropriate to coordinate investigations and drive remediation
- Manage whistleblower protections and non-retaliation controls, including monitoring for retaliation risk and advising leaders on preventive actions
- Operate with significant independence and accountability, balancing speed, rigor, fairness, and confidentiality while managing multiple concurrent matters
- Support the design, enhance, and operationalize ethics and compliance policies, processes, controls, and enabling technologies based on investigation learnings and emerging risks
- Bring professional services expertise (audit—internal/external, finance, legal, forensics, tax, risk/advisory) to assess facts, controls, and risk
- Apply strong written and verbal communication skills for sensitive complaint intake, difficult interviews, policy interpretation, and executive briefings
- Maintain working knowledge of Indian and US laws impacting international business, including privacy/data handling, employment-related matters, and integrity risks
- Address major ethics and compliance risk areas (e.g., anti-corruption, AML, antitrust, insider trading, privacy/information protection, conflicts of interest, independence, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblowing)
- Manage budget, capacity planning, and third-party providers (e.g., forensics, eDiscovery, external counsel) to ensure scalable coverage and surge support
- Lead crisis and high-severity response protocols, including time-sensitive, high-profile, or safety/security-related matters
- Drive continuous improvement through metrics, dashboards, lessons learned, and periodic program effectiveness reviews and audits
