Your role:

Reporting into the VP of HR, the Director, HR Processes & Reporting leads the governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of HR systems, operational processes, and workforce reporting capabilities. This role ensures that HR infrastructure is scalable, automated, compliant, audit-ready, and supported by strong data governance frameworks.

As Global Relay continues to grow and scale globally, this role will ensure our HR infrastructure evolves in step with the business.

In this position, you will partner closely with Enterprise Systems (ES), IT, Finance, Legal, Internal Audit, and HR leadership to drive process excellence, regulatory compliance, and data-driven workforce insights across the organization. You will bring strategic oversight to HR operations while strengthening controls, improving reporting, and providing leadership with reliable, actionable data.

Your responsibilities:

This role drives HR systems strategy, governance, compliance, process excellence, and workforce analytics in the following ways:

HR Systems Strategy & Oversight

  • Lead the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of HR systems & Analytics in partnership with the Enterprise Systems (ES) team.
  • Establish strong controls, user access standards, and integration frameworks to ensure security, compliance, and operational effectiveness. 
  • Co-create and prioritize a multi-year roadmap aligned with business strategy based on business value and ROI with your counterpart in Enterprise Systems.

Compliance, Governance & Audit Leadership

  • Oversee HR policy governance and operational control frameworks across the employee lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, data privacy requirements, compensation governance standards, and internal policies.
  • Lead HR audit readiness efforts, including control testing, documentation oversight, and auditor engagement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Internal Audit and external auditors, driving remediation and continuous improvement.

HR Data Governance & Workforce Analytics

  • Establish and oversee a comprehensive HR data governance framework, including data ownership, quality controls, and reporting definitions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and privacy compliance.
  • Lead the development of KPI dashboards, workforce reporting, and predictive analytics to inform executive decision-making.
  • Translate workforce data into clear, actionable insights on headcount trends, attrition risk, hiring forecasts, and labor cost planning.

HR Process Design & Automation

  • Standardize and optimize HR processes across the employee lifecycle (hire-to-retire).
  • Drive automation initiatives that reduce risk, increase efficiency, and support scalability.
  • Establish clear process documentation and governance mechanisms.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for HR operations, systems, reporting, and compliance.
  • Partner cross-functionally with HRBPs, Finance, IT, ES, Legal, and Internal Audit.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the VP, Human Resources and senior leadership on governance, reporting, and workforce insights.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field required; master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR operations, HR systems, governance, or people analytics
  • Demonstrated success leading HR compliance, audit readiness, and control management
  • Deep expertise in HR data governance, system controls, and workforce reporting infrastructure
  • Experience partnering effectively with Internal Audit, Finance, Legal and external auditors; exposure to multi-country or regulated environments preferred
  • Strong governance and risk management orientation
  • Advanced analytical and reporting capability, including dashboard development, workforce forecasting, and translating data into executive insight.
  • Process improvement and automation leadership
  • Proven leader with executive presence, strong stakeholder management skills, high integrity, and excellent attention to detail

Compensation:

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background. 

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values. We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees' work-life rhythms.
