Job Summary:

The Corporate Counsel, Litigation will provide legal counsel associated with litigation and dispute resolution. This role supports all phases of the litigation process from investigation, pleadings, and discovery to pre-trail, trial, settlement and appeal.

Job Description:

  • Partner with outside counsel to take an active role in litigation involving contract, personal injury, property, employment, and environmental disputes.
  • Revise and/or draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements.
  • Manage pre-litigation disputes, including drafting and responding to demand letters in connection with contract enforcement and insurance coverage matters.
  • Conduct internal investigations, including collecting and reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing investigative reports.
  • Prepare company witnesses for depositions, hearings and trials.
  • Represent the company in administrative agency proceedings and small claims court where needed.
  • Assist with managing legal holds, e-discovery collection and production, and responding to third-party subpoenas and requests for information.
  • Work cross-functionally with other legal team members and business leaders to provide sophisticated advice regarding company policy, insurance coverage, contract interpretation, regulatory compliance, and employee relations.
  • Other special projects and responsibilities based on the skills and interests of candidate and needs of the company.

Additional Job Description:

  • An interest in expanding your learning regarding labor and employment litigation on the management-side as well as counseling internal partners, including human resources and other business units.
  • Excellent written, oral, listening, and organizational skills with proven ability to interact effectively with varied audiences, including executive team members.
  • Ability to strike a balance between legal risks and business goals.
  • Demonstrated record of success strategizing, handling, and managing disputes to a successful resolution.
  • Self-starter and team player with the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • A law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and admitted as a member of the bar in one state, preferably Massachusetts or New York
  • Bachelor's Degree A law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and admitted as a member of the bar in one state, preferably Massachusetts or New York

Pay Range:

$118,300.00 - $177,400.00

The pay range for this position is outlined above. The final amount offered at the start of employment is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience level, knowledge, skills, abilities and geographic location, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
