You are a senior Legal Technology leader who thrives at the intersection of Legal, Technology, and Risk.
We are building and modernising enterprise grade Legal platforms that underpin critical legal operations across the Group.
Together, we will evolve Legal technology through automation, AI enabled workflows, and secure, well governed platforms to help build tomorrow’s bank today.
See yourself in our team:
The Legal Technology team is a small, high performing delivery function with end-to-end ownership of the technology platforms that support Group Legal. The team manages a portfolio of commercial off the shelf SaaS products alongside in house-built solutions, delivering and operating these platforms across their full lifecycle.
The team’s remit spans core Legal Technology capabilities including document and matter management, eDiscovery tooling, workflow and intake platforms, and emerging automation and AI enabled solutions. The focus is on ensuring platforms are reliable, secure, well governed, and fit for purpose within a highly regulated enterprise environment.
Operating at the intersection of Legal, Technology, and Risk, the team translates legal requirements into practical, scalable technology outcomes while maintaining strong standards for data handling, defensibility, and operational resilience. Given its size and scope, the team operates with a high degree of ownership and accountability, balancing day to day platform operations with continuous improvement and technology led transformation across the Legal function.
Do work that matters:
As Chapter Lead, Legal Technology, you will set the strategic direction and lead the delivery of Legal technology platforms across the Group. You will be accountable for platform outcomes, people leadership, vendor performance, and the ongoing evolution of Legal technology capability.
You will lead the delivery of workflow, automation, and AI enabled solutions that materially improve how Legal operates, while ensuring platforms remain secure, compliant, defensible, and resilient at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform and Delivery Leadership:
Deliver new Legal technology platforms and manage the full lifecycle of the Legal technology stack.
Lead platform transitions and the decommissioning of end of life services, ensuring continuity of critical Legal operations.
Own the operational and financial performance of Legal technology products and services.
People and Chapter Leadership:
Lead, grow, and mature the Legal Technology Chapter.
Manage and develop high performing teams of Software Engineers, Platform Engineers, and specialist SME engineers.
Foster a high trust, high performance culture with clear accountability, structured development pathways, coaching, and a strong focus on wellbeing.
Engineering, Standards and Operations:
Establish and embed clear technical standards, delivery frameworks, and governance models.
Embed DevOps aligned practices and repeatable operational models to improve quality, consistency, and scalability.
Drive platform, tooling, and workflow standardisation to enhance defensibility and quality assurance.
Stakeholder and Commercial Management:
Partner with Legal stakeholders to shape and evolve the strategic application suite, ensuring platforms are effective, secure, well governed, and continuously improving.
Manage vendor relationships, commercial performance, and cost optimisation across the Legal technology portfolio.
Collaborate across CBA, Technology, and Change to assess emerging technologies, manage upgrades, and ensure seamless integration within the broader enterprise ecosystem.
