The Opportunity
This position works out of our Lake County, IL location in the BTS – Corporate Strategy and Solutions organization. As a Business and IT Alignment Senior Manager supporting Legal and Compliance, you will lead the development and execution of IT strategy, project roadmaps, and technology solutions that enable Abbott’s Legal, Compliance, and Privacy objectives. You will oversee a team of project managers and technical professionals, partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy and IT leadership, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and business priorities. This role also provides insight to the business functional teams on how to best develop and leverage IT capabilities, proactively identifying areas of opportunity to apply IT for new enablement opportunities, process improvement and cost efficiencies. It harmonizes, motivates and provides development opportunities for team members, including coaching and mentoring.
What You’ll Work On
Partner with Corporate Functions IT Director – Legal and Compliance to develop and drive the IT strategy for Legal and Compliance, ensuring alignment with corporate and divisional goals.
Oversee the creation and execution of multi-year project and technology roadmaps for key division initiatives.
Be an emerging leader in industry advancements and direction of domains supported who thinks strategically leveraging knowledge of domain needs across Abbott.

Lead a portfolio of complex, high-impact IT programs and projects across Legal and Compliance
Ensure all Legal and Compliance applications and solutions comply with applicable corporate, divisional, and regulatory policies.
Oversee project managers and teams in the delivery of solutions, ensuring milestones, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Engage with executive and cross-functional stakeholders to establish consensus on goals, priorities, and deliverables.
Advise on change management strategies and ensure effective communication and training plans are integrated into project delivery.
Proactively identify and resolve risks, issues, and blockers to successful program execution.
Oversee program and project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated effectively.
Manage relationships with external vendors and delivery partners to ensure successful outcomes.
Establish frameworks for tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement of Legal and Compliance IT initiatives.
Capture lessons learned and drive adoption of best practices across the organization.
Lead and mentor a team of project managers and technical professionals.
Oversee a portfolio of IT programs and projects with budgets exceeding $5MM.
Influence Legal and Compliance technology strategy and ensure compliance with global regulations.
Represent IT in executive forums and cross-divisional initiatives related to Legal and Compliance.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related discipline required
10+ years of experience in IT project/program management, business systems analysis, or software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated experience delivering IT solutions in a corporate, regulated environment (preferably life sciences, healthcare, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree preferred.
Deep understanding of privacy, compliance, and legal technology domains.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Experience with legal technologies and processes (e-Billing, Matter Management, Document Management, eDiscovery, Information Governance).
Experience with compliance technologies and processes (HCP engagement, Transparency reporting, Monitoring and Reporting)
Experience with privacy frameworks, data protection regulations, and privacy technology solutions.
Strong financial and vendor management skills.
Experience working in a matrixed global organization.

The base pay for this position is
$127,300.00 – $254,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
