Position Summary

As an Associate Director supporting our Global Records and Information Management (RIM) team, you will work with a team of experienced professionals to help clients optimize information governance/records and information management practices and associated business operations including M&A RIM activities. You will contribute directly to delivering first class services to our clients, and your support of the engagement lifecycle will include solution design, service delivery, and directly leading junior practitioners. This role works closely with Lilly Legal, partner vendors, and the IT organization on various related topics. To accomplish this purpose, it is vital to develop collegial and mutually productive relationships across a multitude of Lilly (and partner company) components.

Additional responsibilities may include:

Lead delivery of multiple simultaneous large enterprise-wide projects

Provide Technical SME support and consultation across Records Management domains (i.e. retention schedule, impact assessment, training, electronic records management, etc.)

Lead engagement planning, budgeting, and economics, including development of cost models and financial plans and support leadership teams across key focus areas

Develop and lead strategic solutioning across RIM initiatives

Be responsible for day-to-day interactions with internal clients and Lilly teams

Display breadth and depth of knowledge regarding functional and technical issues

Facilitate consensus of proposed solutions from senior client collaborators

Establish, negotiate, lead, and facilitate strategic client and vendor relationships

Perform Corporate RIM Due Diligence on potential acquisitions and actively engage with Business Development teams to drive key outcomes

Lead sell-side deals and any records separation activities

Lead post-close activities including issuing retention holds, acting as lead for data retention activities of acquired employees, and other activities

Regularly maintain the Global Records Retention Schedule (GRRS) as well as perform annual review and/or revision of GRRS

Perform regular records clean up using the Lilly Records Management (LRM) system

Act as a human-in-the-loop for any AI model development (i.e. review AI model outputs, refine model’s logic)

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a strategic information governance professional who can demonstrate deep expertise to address sophisticated challenges. This specialist will be in a position to make a significant impact at Lilly and help drive strategic change.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Expertise: 8 to 10 years of relevant industry or consulting experience, including 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading and managing high performing teams and 5+ years of project management experience. Experience and understanding of sophisticated Records and Information Management strategies, tools and technologies (ex. information governance, data governance, records management, data/content management, metadata and taxonomy management, data classification, records retention or disposition) is a must as well as a proven track record of process improvement and consistent career progression with increasing levels of responsibility.

Team Prowess: Demonstrated ability for team collaboration. Experience moving strategic vision forward, developing other resources and ability to speak with clear and thoughtful input is highly valued. Additionally, experience leading multiple simultaneous sophisticated engagements and the ability to lead teams in an ambiguous environment is critical for success.

Strategic Vision: A strategic problem solver who can develop and implement innovative information management strategies that align with our company's goals and objectives

Technical Savvy: Proficiency in using cutting-edge technologies (i.e. current records management, archiving, data classification or other relevant technologies) to enhance Records and Information Management practices. Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in legal contexts is critical.

Business Operations & Regulatory Acumen: Strong understanding of corporate business operations, functional business processes, regulatory requirements, and compliance issues related to data management issues applicable to a medicine company.

Exceptional Communication: Outstanding communication and the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with collaborators at all levels and across teams.

Problem-Solving Skills: A creative problem solver who can navigate sophisticated legal challenges and deliver results under pressure.

Global Perspective: Experience working in a global environment and leading cross-border litigation and eDiscovery projects with demonstrated success.

Passion for Innovation: A forward-thinking perspective with a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement in legal practices. Basic Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree

A minimum of 8+ years of relevant industry or consulting experience in Records and Information Management

5+ years of project management experience.

Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Ability to research, track, and turn regulations and enforcement trends into practical, actionable advice.       

Demonstrated collaboration skills with corporate business partners and/or clients, including the ability to work closely with legal, information technology, compliance and security teammates and a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.

Highly motivated and collaborative partner with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and members of management across all levels of the company

Comfortable operating with a sense of urgency and ability to lead competing priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Ability to travel to Indianapolis on an as-needed basis.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$127,500 - $204,600

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
