Job Summary:

The AI Productivity Platform Engineer designs, builds, and operates the enterprise’s AI‑powered productivity ecosystem. This role focuses on engineering robust, secure, and scalable solutions across Microsoft 365 & Copilot, OpenAI ChatGPT Enterprise / Azure OpenAI, and Google Gemini / Workspace. The role will assist with administering, optimizing, and evolving AI-driven productivity and collaboration platforms across the enterprise. You will identify and create integrations, automations, and extensions that measurably improve employee productivity, while ensuring strong governance, security, and reliability. You will ensure secure, scalable, high-performing, and innovative use of AI to enhance employee productivity worldwide.

You will partner closely with Security, Privacy, Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, and regional IT teams to deliver engineered outcomes—codifying configurations, automating operations, and instrumenting platforms with observable telemetry.

In addition to having strong technical skills, you must be comfortable in effectively communicating with business end users, technical IT teams, business partners, network providers, and business process outsourced vendors, all while being sensitive to a wide diversity of cultural and technical backgrounds in a global business environment.

Job Functions:

Platform Administration, Engineering & Architecture

  • Administer, configure, and optimize AI productivity platforms including Microsoft 365 Copilot, OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini / Workspace, and integrated AI assistants across enterprise applications.
  • Manage platform controls, user provisioning, entitlements, and AI model access policies.
  • Perform ongoing platform maintenance, including upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Ensure responsible AI usage in alignment with corporate governance, data privacy, and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with Security, Legal, and Data Governance teams on AI usage reviews, risk assessments, and third-party integrations.
  • Design secure, scalable reference architectures for AI productivity platforms (M365 & Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise / Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini / Workspace).
  • Implement configuration‑as‑code patterns for tenant, policy, and feature configuration; create reusable templates and guardrails.
  • Engineer platform controls for data access, model access policies, rate limits, and cost governance.

AI Use Case Enablement & Optimization

  • Support and enable AI adoption across business functions by configuring features, deploying use cases, and optimizing usage.
  • Monitor AI usage patterns, identify optimization opportunities, and recommend improvements to drive measurable productivity impact.
  • Stay current with platform advancements and evaluate new AI features for enterprise readiness.
  • Develop business cases for activating new capabilities or retiring legacy tools.

Platform Integration & Automation

  • Integrate AI productivity platforms with existing collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, Box, and other enterprise systems.
  • Leverage Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse) to create automations and streamline business workflows.
  • Support API-based integrations, identity federation (OAuth, SAML), and enterprise SSO standards.
  • Drive automation and efficiency opportunities across global teams.

User Experience, Support & Training

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for AI productivity and collaboration platforms, ensuring exceptional service and adoption.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training, onboarding content, and best-practice guidance for global users working closely with User Enablement team.
  • Partner with regional IT teams to ensure consistent delivery of support services across time zones.

Security, Compliance & Responsible AI

  • Implement Zero Trust principles: least privilege, Entra ID conditional access, OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, and SCIM.
  • Engineer data protection controls: DLP, sensitivity labels, Safe Links/Attachments, eDiscovery, audit; enforce regional data residency where required.
  • Collaborate with Risk/Legal on responsible AI guardrails (prompt injection mitigation, data exfiltration controls, content filtering) and model change management.

Documentation, Governance & Standards

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, including platform standards, configuration guides, AI usage policies, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Support enterprise governance frameworks, helping ensure responsible and compliant AI usage.
  • Contribute to global playbooks and operational runbooks for the AI productivity ecosystem.

Strategic Collaboration & Planning

  • Work closely with the Senior Director, Collaboration Technology, contributing insights and recommendations that support long-term AI productivity strategy.
  • Participate in roadmap planning for enterprise AI tools, global collaboration platforms, and automation initiatives.
  • Provide regional insights to help shape global platform decisions and adoption strategies.

Job Requirements:

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on administration experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and ideally AI platforms such as Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, or Gemini for Workspace.
  • Experience with enterprise collaboration tools such as Slack, Box, Zoom, and associated third-party integrations.
  • Working knowledge of Azure AD, identity management (OAuth, SAML), and SSO implementations.
  • Proficiency in automation and integration tools, including PowerShell, REST APIs, Power Platform, and workflow automation.
  • Proven experience building against Microsoft Graph, Google Workspace APIs, and OpenAI/Gemini APIs.
  • DevOps proficiency: GitHub or Azure DevOps, Terraform/Bicep, artifact/versioning, secrets management (Key Vault/Secret Manager).
  • Experience with AI tools, prompt engineering fundamentals, and understanding of enterprise AI risks and governance.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technology into clear, user-friendly language.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a global team, with flexibility across time zones.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with excellent follow-through.

Education & Certifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration (with IT focus), or related field.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Certifications such as:
    • Microsoft 365 Administrator / Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer
    • Google Workspace Administrator
    • AI-related certifications from Microsoft, Google, or OpenAI
    • ITIL Foundation or PMP for service and project management
