Our client is a reputable mid-size law firm recognized for their litigation, real estate, corporate, tax and trusts and estates practices. They are looking to add a Practice Assistant to their team. Your responsibilities will include assisting the managing partner and the name partner’s practice and in managing the litigation process, document collection and preservation, document review, document production tasks, and maintaining the case filing systems. Word processing duties will include preparing briefs and other lengthy indexed documents. You will be expected to coordinate with litigation teams on specific assignments, providing such assistance as scheduling, drafting basic correspondence, preparing documents for trial and filing documents electronically. You will also be required to interact successfully with attorneys, court personnel and staff from opposing law firms.


Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as Legal Assistant/Paralegal/Legal Secretary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, with advanced legal word processing skills, including styling documents and marking text for tables of authorities/contents
  • Experience with iManage Cloud for file management and familiarity with Practice Assistant, Litera Compare, Adobe, and internet research
  • Ability to use Pacer for filing documents accurately and on deadline
  • Strong proofreading skills
  • Willingness to learn new software and systems
  • Experience with the litigation process and basic litigation terminology
  • Strong technical organizational abilities
  • Ability to learn and implement new tools and technologies
  • Completion of at least two years of college courses or equivalent work experience
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in spelling, and use of English grammar and punctuation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide administrative and technical support for multiple attorneys and work on simultaneous projects to meet deadlines
  • Responsible, organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving
  • Experience with filing in state and federal court/Pacer
  • Proficient in Word and Excel, with knowledge of creating tables of authorities/contents
  • Extensive proofreading experience
