Team Lead-eDDR – Document Review

Elevate is recruiting a Team Lead to join Elevate as part of our Disputes & Investigations team. This team will support global law firm and in-house law department customers with litigation document review, cyber incident response, and eDiscovery in ongoing complex litigations and data breaches.
Specifically, you will

  • Be responsible for performing quality checks and running audits on document review projects; expected to participate in the development and refinement of efficient audits.
  • Assist the manager in organizing, planning, and implementing strategy.
  • Need to have good written communication skills to create engagement reference documents, emails or drafts that are used for communications with external stakeholders (e.g. e-discovery platform vendors; customers/outside counsel).
  • Review documents for: legal and/or factual relevance to the case/investigation; legal privilege; and special (matter-specific) concepts as per customer instructions. 
  • Ensure that the entire project is running smoothly without any issues and risk to the deadlines.
  • Manage the team and the process.
  • Be an expert on the protocol and instructions governing the case; regularly contribute to development and preparation of training material and actively participate in project-specific training sessions.  You should be comfortable disseminating this learning to small sub-teams, or more generally to juniors on the team.
  • Need to have good knowledge of e-discovery platforms and workflow should go beyond management of individual assignments; should be able to understand and run advanced searches on multiple e-discovery platforms; should be able to create workflows.
  • Create a robust environment to lead and manage document review and data breach projects.
  • Handle the management and execution of document review and data breach processes.
  • Be expected to innovate and improve upon document review and data breach processes and techniques.
  • Maximize platform reporting/tracking ability.
  • Need to have strong subject matter expertise, display significant ability to engage with the subject matter expert of the department’s projects (Industries include Financial, Intellectual Property etc.) 

Skills for Success:

  • Skilled in the most used e-discovery platforms, including managing assignments, workflow (including the ability to suggest changes to workflow)
  • Searches: understands search syntax (and the ways in which they vary) on platforms; ability to run error-free searches and to train juniors on the same; test the effectiveness of the search results Attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical & logical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS word, excel, power point.
  • Attention to detail. 


  • Displays leadership potential by way of “floor presence” and ability to motivate juniors.  Able to run very small projects under close supervision of manager.
  • Excellent oral written communication skills Ability to perform well under stringent deadline pressure.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of applications
  • Experience using Discovery database platforms tools like Relativity, Brainspace, Everlaw, Nuix, etc.


  • Prior experience with document review, eDiscovery, and data breach.
  • 3+ years in Law Industry with extensive experience in document review and data breach.


  • Minimum LLB
  • LLM (would be an added advantage)
  • Experience in managing PII, HIPPA, and DSAR reviews desired.
