What is the Global Information Security group responsible for?

Global information Security is responsible for the firm’s Cyber Security Risk program including program governance, program management, security operations, compliance, education and awareness, and risk management.

What is the Sr. Engineer- Compliance Operations responsible for?

The Sr. Engineer - Compliance Operations is responsible for the design and ongoing support of Franklin Templeton’s Enterprise Compliance Archiving infrastructure. This requires knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (O365), specializing in Compliance center (aka Purview) and 3rd party data feeds and integrations. The role will require the candidate to conduct research into new capabilities in order to scale the infrastructure and implement ongoing process and automation improvements to ensure system performance, accurate monitoring and service resiliency.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Sr. Engineer- Compliance Operations?

  • Tier 3 support for O365 Compliance Center (Purview)

  • Manage permissions within O365 Compliance Center

  • Manage corporate retention policies within O365 Compliance Center

  • Support eDiscovery cases & surveillance policies (eDiscovery / Communication Compliance)

  • Monitoring and Reporting to ensure data quality and service resiliency

  • Support data archiving connectors (including 3rd party connectors) into O365 (Data Connectors)

  • Solution, document and execute request changes pertaining to O365 Compliance portal

  • Process design, documentation, and automation

  • Provisioning access to eDiscovery tools based on completion of Access Request form/workflow

  • Work with vendors to resolve stakeholder issues encountered with using the compliance tools

  • Maintain Microsoft 365 Compliance licensing

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • O365 Compliance Center Support & Engineering

  • Overall 3+ years of industry experience with a background in working with financial institutions and their regulatory requirements surrounding communications retention

  • Strong experience supporting and configuring Office 365 Compliance Center

  • Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting languages

  • Experience in working with at least one of the financial services industry’s major regulatory data archive vendors

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience

  • Proficient in use of Outlook, SharePoint, Microsoft Office365 Compliance Center, Microsoft Teams, and other database functionality/concepts

  • Knowledge of KQL (Keyword query language) within O365 Compliance center

  • General understanding of FINRA regulations and Compliance

  • Good interpersonal skills and positive work ethic

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills and technical aptitude

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously

  • Able to multitask and prioritize effectively

  • Effective partnership & collaboration

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $128,100.00 - $150,800.00.
