As a Senior Paralegal, you play a vital role in supporting our litigation and employment law efforts. You will collaborate closely with the legal team, various business areas, and outside counsel throughout all phases of litigation. For litigation matters the legal team handles internally, you will assist with drafting various discovery related documents, such as interrogatory and subpoena responses. Your responsibilities will include maintaining organized case files and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Key tasks will include utilizing e-discovery tools to manage document collection, review, and production, ensuring compliance with legal holds, and assisting in the preservation of relevant data. You will also manage and respond to regulatory inquiries in partnership with internal legal counsel, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

Additionally, you may conduct background check reviews, summarize findings for legal counsel, identify statutory disqualification issues, and advise on potential implications.

You will work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

  • You have a minimum of eight years of experience in a paralegal role, with a focus on litigation or employment support.

  • You have a paralegal certification or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies.

  • You have experience with e-discovery and legal hold tools, ideally with Exterro.

  • You possess a strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.

  • You can manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • You demonstrate a high degree of intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and work well with differing degrees of ambiguity.

  • You demonstrate sound judgment in resolving complex matters and the ability to analyze diverse sources of information to solve problems.

  • You can lead and manage projects, across multiple teams, document milestones, proactively provide updates to stakeholders, allocate resources, and consider contingencies.

  • You are proficient in using technology to enhance and streamline processes, partnering with senior individuals and IT to implement strategic solutions.

  • You have effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse group of individuals, including senior business leaders.

  • You demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality and integrity.

  • You can leverage internal relationships to achieve business outcomes and are able to collaborate and develop relationships externally.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $131,596-$210,554

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
