Guidehouse is looking for Litigation Paralegal Specialist to be a part of our growing litigation and investigative support practice area.  Every organization today faces complexity across multiple levels on a frequent basis. The Litigation Paralegal Specialist provides professional, accurate, timely and reliable paralegal support reporting to and detailed to assist the litigating teams, assisting the attorneys with all phases of litigation.  In particular, the Litigation Paralegal will support the missions of Employment and Civil Litigation teams and perform research, locate responsive information, identify relevant laws, judicial decisions, and legal articles; synopsizing transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; review case material and identify potentially conflicting statement or areas requiring further investigation.  The work products of the Litigation Paralegals are reviewed prior to submission; however, the Litigation Paralegal will develop these products with minimal direct supervision other than written guidelines. 


What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TOP SECRET federal security clearance.

  • FIVE (5) or more years of relevant experience such as litigation paralegal experience or FOIA analyst experience.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of legal research tools, such as LEXIS NEXIS, Westlaw, and Pacer. 


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • FIVE (5) or more years of relevant experience with trial experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent Documentation Skills.

  • Successful completion of Law Degree or Paralegal Studies / Certificate

  • Experience with all phases of litigation, including assisting with discovery requests and responses; drafting motions and briefs; organizing exhibits, and assisting at trial. 

  • Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and hands-on familiarity with computer platforms that assist with document review and case management. 

  • A general knowledge of ESI tools and e-discovery procedures and resources is desired.

  • Experience performing Paralegal functions including moderately complex legal research; synopsizing transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorneys.

  • Experience assisting in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, exhibits, etc.; conducting legal analysis, reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.

  • Experience reviewing materials in discovery for relevancy and privilege and preparing privilege logs.

  • Experience assisting the drafting and issuing of preservation notices and litigation holds.

The annual salary range for this position is $94,900.00-$142,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
