Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 (M365) Director with a strong background in law firm environments, specializing in eDiscovery, Information Governance (IG), and data management. The ideal candidate will lead our M365 initiatives, manage eDiscovery practices, and drive data governance policies tailored to the legal sectorβs unique regulatory and security requirements. This individual will bridge technology with legal operations to ensure that our M365 implementation enhances productivity, compliance, and data integrity across the organization. This position is fully remote.

Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Program Management
- Oversee the end-to-end management of M365, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Security & Compliance Center, ensuring optimal use within a legal framework.
- Design, develop, and implement strategies for eDiscovery and Information Governance, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, data privacy laws, and firm-specific policies.
- Serve as a liaison between IT, Legal Operations, Compliance, and Records Management teams to align M365 capabilities with the firmβs legal and regulatory needs.
- eDiscovery & Information Governance
- Lead the firmβs eDiscovery efforts, managing policies, workflows, and tools (including M365βs eDiscovery capabilities) to support legal holds, data preservation, and production.
- Establish and enforce data retention, deletion, and archiving policies, particularly as they relate to privileged or sensitive client information.
- Develop IG frameworks that support data lifecycle management and minimize risk while enhancing data accessibility for legal teams.
- M365 Adoption & Optimization
- Drive M365 adoption across the firm, promoting best practices in collaboration, document management, and communication, tailored to the needs of legal professionals.
- Identify and implement improvements to M365 tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and improve client service.
- Maintain documentation, user training, and ongoing support for M365 capabilities with a focus on maximizing ROI and minimizing disruptions.
- Compliance, Security, and Risk Management
- Ensure that M365 configurations align with legal data protection standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and law firm regulations around data security and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the Security team to enforce data protection policies, including access controls, encryption, and multi-factor authentication.
- Oversee regular audits of M365 to verify compliance with internal and external policies, managing any corrective actions as needed.
- Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage a team of M365 specialists, eDiscovery professionals, and IG experts, fostering an environment of continuous learning and process improvement.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership, presenting program updates, project milestones, and ongoing risks.
- Cultivate relationships with stakeholders across IT, Legal, and Client Services to ensure alignment on M365 capabilities, eDiscovery readiness, and IG practices.

$200,000 - $250,000 a year
This position features an annual bonus.
