Harbor is seeking a Legal Technology Consultant - Corporate CLM and eDiscovery to join our growing team.  This role is part of the Corporate Legal Technology (CLT) group, which provides technology services to corporate legal departments in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Discovery and Data Management (DDM), and Enterprise Legal Management (ELM). We work with Fortune 500 clients to streamline processes, optimize technology use, and drive more efficient legal operations.

We are seeking a Consultant with a strong background in design principles, system configuration, and workflow automation. This position will be key in delivering high-quality client support, ensuring seamless data transitions, and assisting in the successful implementation of legal technology solutions. You will work directly with client legal and IT teams to support legal technology implementations, particularly focusing on CLM, ELM, and eDiscovery solutions. This role blends system design, data analysis, and hands-on project management to deliver effective and tailored solutions to meet diverse client needs in the legal technology landscape. We prefer candidates that can work in Chicago, IL or Houston, TX, but will consider remote candidates for this position as well.   

The following is an overview of the services provided to help clients manage their legal technology and data needs across CLM, DDM, and ELM:

  • Assess: Evaluate processes, structure, technology, and spend across ELM, CLM, and eDiscovery, delivering actionable recommendations for efficiency and improvement 
  • Implement: Oversee the full lifecycle of ELM, CLM, and eDiscovery platform selection, configuration, migration, integration, automation, and reporting 
  • Enhance: Drive legal tech optimization through workflow design, operating models, playbooks, vendor programs, and dashboards for deeper data insights 
  • Remediate: Audit systems, map data flows for compliance and legal needs, advise on data hygiene, and manage defensible data disposition 
  • Support: Provide ongoing CLM, ELM, and eDiscovery support, system administration, user training, and managed services for legal hold and compliance 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the configuration and deployment of CLM, ELM, and eDiscovery solutions by gathering requirements, assisting in data mapping, and collaborating on workflow and system setup to meet client specifications 
  • Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy throughout the migration process; support the team by analyzing data requirements, identifying key fields, and providing insights for optimized data workflows 
  • Assist in project coordination to ensure alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards; maintain clear, consistent communication with clients, supporting strong relationships and delivering high-quality project outcomes 

System Implementation:  

  • Assist in the creation of deliverables for CLM, ELM, and eDiscovery projects, supporting the team through project planning, setup, and implementation phases  
  • Participate in client interviews, workshops, and presentations to gather and document business requirements, migration needs, and project specifications  
  • Support the mapping of business requirements to system capabilities and data fields, identifying gaps and helping configure custom solutions aligned with client objectives 
  • Document and maintain project materials, including conversion plans, design documents, and error logs, to ensure clear and comprehensive records 

Data Analysis: 

  • Work closely with the project team to analyze client data, identifying key fields, workflows, and mapping requirements for successful migration 
  • Perform data validation and quality checks during migration activities to maintain data integrity and compliance with project standards 
  • Contribute to data analysis efforts by supporting data migration strategies and optimizing workflows to align with client requirements 
  • Document migration processes with detailed data mapping guidelines, quality control checklists, and error resolution protocols, ensuring a smooth data transition 

Project Management + Client Delivery:  

  • Assist in project coordination to maintain alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards for CLM, ELM, and eDiscovery projects 
  • Contribute to high-quality client communication by providing regular updates, assisting with issue tracking, and supporting client expectations 
  • Help develop and execute test scripts for user acceptance testing (UAT), collaborating with clients to address and resolve migration issues 
  • Conduct research on industry trends to inform project strategies, adding value to client engagements with relevant best practices 
  • Support the team’s business development efforts by assisting with proposals, presentation materials, and development of work plans 

Experience, Education and Other Qualifications: 

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in technology consulting with an emphasis in client-facing roles with technical fluency
