The location for this position is in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Position Summary

The eDiscovery Specialist position will have a strong background in managing the entire electronic discovery processes, including data collection, processing, review and production.  This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong ability to tackle challenges with a fresh approach. 

We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated expertise in technology, and prior eDiscovery experience.

This position will collaborate closely with legal, IT partners, and external vendors to ensure efficient and effective management of eDiscovery projects and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data collection, processing, review and production work.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to develop and implement eDiscovery strategies.
  • Implement data preservation protocols to ensure relevant ESI is properly retained.
  • Conduct keyword searches, filtering and culling to identify pertinent information.
  • Perform advanced searches and apply analytics techniques.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of eDiscovery data.
  • Stay current with eDiscovery technology, trends and legal requirements.
  • Train and advise legal teams on the eDiscovery process and efficient use of technology. 
  • Lead and/or serve on committees, special projects, or other assignments as directed to further departmental goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration or other related degree
  • In addition to bachelor's degree, five (5) years minimum of related work experience
  • In lieu of degree, high school diploma/GED AND nine (9) years minimum of related work experience

 Desired Qualifications

  • Strong IT or eDiscovery experience
  • Experience with Powershell or writing Powershell scripts.
  • Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview eDiscovery Premium or Standard 
  • Certified eDiscovery Specialist (CEDS) Certification or any equivalent certification
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior e-discovery experience
  • Proficiency in eDiscovery technologies (Exterro, Casepoint, Relativity, etc.) or any complimentary technology
  • Ability to comply with processes to protect the company from unnecessary risks and liabilities, including the security and confidentiality of eDiscovery data 
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated, forward thinking and eager to continuously learn 
  • Willingness to take on new projects and think outside the box 
  • Experience with AI-based technologies for legal data processing and combing through large sets of data

  • Office environment
  • Hybrid mobility classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to Duke Energy Plaza.
