Title: E-Discovery Manager
Location: San Jose OR New York City (Onsite)
Base Salary Range: $127K-$166K + Equity

General Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of legal processes relating to document preservation, collection, review, and production.

  • Comprehension of data integrity and the concept of spoliation, as well as expertise with various data structures.

  • Experience with programming languages as well as the ability to utilize regular expressions or macros.

  • Document processing experience with the combined knowledge of various data formats and output.

  • Familiarity with Relativity and similar review platforms and the ability to manage large scale document reviews.

  • Ability to communicate regarding complex, technical issues and resolve unforeseen issues.

Data Collection

  • Manage data collection and coordination between legal team and third-party service providers.

    • Perform collection and exports from Google Vault, including Gmail, Google Docs, and other Google Workspace products.

  • Collect data from other sources such as Slack, Confluence, and Jira.

    • Ability to utilize Python or other scripting languages to perform automated tasks.

  • Collaborate with other internal departments to collect data from proprietary tools.

  • Implement a data tracking system to ensure completeness and accuracy of data collections.

                                                    

Matter Management

  • Initiate new matters internally or externally.

    • Understand various user roles and permissions when creating user accounts.

    • Configure data to adhere parameters set forth by ESI protocols, such as time zone and deduplication settings.

  • Archive or delete data associated with matters that have been concluded in accordance with retention policies and various regulatory entities both nationally and internationally.

  • Perform complex data searching within Logikcull or Relativity utilizing knowledge of Boolean, dtSearch, and other index syntax.

  • Possess knowledge of document production protocol and formats.

    • Create document productions in Logikcull utilizing quality control measures surrounding responsiveness, privilege, and confidentiality.



 

  • Analyze and prepare outside productions for review in Logikcull with the ability to assess various document formats and compatibility with in-house tools.

  • Assess the needs for each matter and promote the use of technology assisted review where appropriate.

  • Regularly attend status meetings with in-house and outside counsel, serving as a liaison between each party.

  • Provide and monitor matter metrics regarding budget, data volume, culling, and review status.

    • Implement cost, time, and risk-reducing strategies.

    • Utilize billing software to sync matters for ease of tracking and cost management.
