To help us grow and achieve our ambitions, our team in Brussels is looking for an Associate Forensic Technology , to work alongside leading professionals in fields such as Digital Forensics, eDiscovery, Legal Technology and Data Analytics.  

Our Forensic Technology Solutions team helps clients manage vast amounts of electronic data and navigate the legal and business processes that are mandated by critical events. We develop and utilize cutting-edge technology to help our clients in times of crisis or to understand past challenges and proactively prevent future ones. When disputes or regulatory investigations arise, a timely resolution relies on organizations being prepared.

A career within our Forensic Services will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients prevent, respond to and remediate a wide range of business threats, risks and complex issues. As part of the team, you’ll support our clients who wish to investigate potential financial crime, to respond to regulatory enquiries, support our core forensic experts in executing investigations, provide dispute analysis, litigation support, etc. You’ll also help clients with collection, processing and review of data to identify key information.

What you’ll learn and do

  • Receive trainings in a wide range of technical and non-technical skills.
  • Gain exposure to a wide variety of forensic and analytical techniques.
  • With your skills in Computer Forensics and eDiscovery, you will be supporting and executing fraud investigations, litigations, Data Breach investigations and other engagements with a forensic nature, respecting project plans with detailed timelines and budgets under the instructions of managers and above.
  • Forensically obtaining data from computers, servers and mobile devices, ensuring the evidential integrity of the data as well as preparing the data for efficient document review on Nuix, Relativity and/or Reveal. 
  • Oversee document review projects, including the application of AI and Active Learning concepts;
  • Carry out review platform maintenance, reporting and related document and electronic evidence collection administration, as directed or assigned.
  • Manipulate data load files between litigation review platforms to assure quality and cost efficiency of document review projects and document management.
  • Provide consultation to clients and other offices concerning ESI for preservation, collections, processing, analysis, review and production
  • Train and advise legal teams on the application and efficient use of technology. Use expertise and hands on experience with eDiscovery tools to provide technical solutions for managing data.
  • Drafting reports and presentations to explain the findings
  • Consulting with clients on business issues, often explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical people.
  • Contribute in having an organized workspace and forensic lab.
  • Facilitating meetings with our clients and stakeholders in an organized and knowledgeable manner, delivering clear requests for information, demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.
  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of proposals that describe our approach, deliverables and fees to projects.
  • Train and supervise staff and coach colleagues who will be operating under your instructions.
  • Attend and participate in project team meetings to discuss and brainstorm on additional areas to investigate and additional forensic services (i.e. computer forensics or broader legal technology services) that would be beneficial to the client.
  • Harness artificial intelligence, automation, robotics and machine learning to assist our clients, you will have the opportunity to get involved in some innovative projects where we utilize these technologies to solve complex issues.
  • Researching new products, tools and techniques to assist with streamlining internal processes and methods of presenting results to clients


 

What you have done

You have obtained a degree in a technology-related program, IT, civil or business engineering and worked as eDiscovery and/or Digital Forensic analyst in a similar consulting environment for 0-2 years.

Who you are

  • Specialization in Information Technology, eDiscovery, digital forensics, legal technology and/or data analytics.
  • Good understanding of key concepts of electronic discovery and the EDRM model
  • Already able to work with the following tools:
    • Computer forensic and eDiscovery tools such as EnCase, FTK, Axiom, Nuix (Workstation/Discover), Brainspace, Relativity, Reveal or equivalents
    • ETL-tools such as Alteryx or equivalent
    • Predictive and scripting tools such as VBA, R, Python, SQL or other equivalent
    • Visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or equivalent
  • Certified Relativity Expert or other equivalent certifications is a plus
  • 0-2 years or more of professional experience
  • Team player with a sense of innovation, initiative and a critical, analytical mind with a good dose of business sense.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent investigations and projects with minimal supervision.
  • Communicative, eager to learn and you are looking to develop and grow.
  • Fluency in English; ideally also in Dutch and/or French. German is a plus.
  • Flexibility with respect to assigned tasks and engagements due to changing deadlines, deliverables, and task priorities
  • Experience in working as part of a project team in a support or lead role as well as experience in client-facing engagements.
  • A creative and investigative mindset to identify possible fraud schemes and address the risks they pose to an organization
  • Excellent report writing skills and able to work with minimum supervision and with tight timelines.
