Job Description:

Job Summary:

A Benefits Specialist holds an essential role, offering support across all business units at Epiq. This position includes overseeing leave of absences, collaborating with leaders, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This role will also be responsible for advancing our wellness program offered to our medical plan participants and engaging employees globally in wellness activities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with third-party leave administrator, ensure all types of leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, personal, medical, military, and parental leaves are managed appropriately.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to leave administration.

  • Communicate with employees, managers, and HR partners on leave policies, procedures, and eligibility.

  • Coordinate with payroll, benefits, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely leave payments and benefits continuation.

  • Maintain accurate and complete leave records and documentation in the HRIS system and other databases.

  • Provide reports and analysis on leave trends, costs, and utilization.

  • Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in leave administration and benefits.

Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field is a plus.

  • At least two years of experience in benefits administration, with a focus on leave administration.

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to leave administration, such as FMLA, ADA, and USERRA.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and other software applications.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Certification in benefits or leave administration is a plus.
