KLDiscovery, one of the largest national eDiscovery providers, is currently seeking attorneys who are actively licensed in New York and residing in New York City, with mid to senior-level experience, for immediate openings. Our client prides itself on a proactive, business-oriented approach to servicing their clients.  




Qualified candidates will assist the division attorneys with discovery (paper and electronic), settlements, and motion practice in defense of the city and its officials in civil rights cases brought in federal court in which police officer, district attorney, or correction officer misconduct is alleged. Assignments include, but are not limited to, preparing settlement memos, document review, digesting transcripts, legal research and writing, defending depositions, and interviewing officers. 




We are seeking attorneys with excellent research, writing and comprehension skills. A writing sample is required and should be included with your application. 




Admission in federal court is preferred.  




 


Project Details:  





  • Location: New York City Onsite  





  • Anticipated Start Date: December 2024   





  • Duration:  Contract Position - Long Term 





  • Pay rate: $40 Per Hour    




     




Qualifications: 





  • Must be barred in NY State 





  • Must be admitted in Federal Court 





  • Additionally, you must be either a member of the bar for the SDNY or be eligible for admission by reciprocity.  





  • 3+ years document review experience 





  • Prior courtroom experience is preferred and should be included in your resume. 





  • Substantive legal experience negotiating settlements should be included in your resume. 





  • Experience taking and defending depositions as the first chair. 





  • Strong research and writing skills, candidates must submit a writing sample 





  • Must be able to commit to 40 hours per week for the duration of the assignment.    





  • Strong attention to detail and capability to prioritize tasks. 





  • Critical thinking skills and ability to retain complex work direction.  





  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
