The Office of House Employment Counsel (OHEC) represents employing offices of the U.S. House of Representatives with respect to employment law matters under the Congressional Accountability Act (???CAA???) and is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal who, with other staff, manage OHEC???s internal litigation and labor relations docket, conduct document coding and review, handle court filings, and conduct blue-booking and cite-checking of briefs, all with minimal training and oversight.

Duties:

The Office of House Employment Counsel (OHEC) represents employing offices of the U.S. House of Representatives with respect to employment law matters under the Congressional Accountability Act (???CAA???) and is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal who will, in conjunction with other staff, manage OHEC???s internal litigation and labor relations docket, conduct document coding and review, handle court filings, and conduct blue-booking and cite-checking of briefs, all with minimal training and oversight. Candidates must be able to work independently and be prepared to hit the ground running in our fast-paced litigation heavy practice.

Qualifications:

Two-year post-high school educational program (e.g., Associates Degree, preferably in paralegal studies); an intensive paralegal certification program; five years of paralegal litigation experience, preferably at least two of which were primarily with respect to employment law litigation and/or labor relations (union organizing, collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations); extensive familiarity with court and/or administrative agency litigation filings, including ability to locate, research, interpret and apply filing rules and federal civil procedure rules; and demonstrated experience handling e-discovery and litigation holds.
