This position is located in the Technology Directorate (TD), Litigation Support Section (LSS) of the Executive Office (EXO) within the Antitrust Division (ATR). EXO is a very dynamic and fast paced office, delivering the professional management services that power ATR’s people and mission. Within EXO, LSS provides a wide range of services and technology products that help attorneys Division-wide acquire, organize, develop, and present evidence in support of an investigation or case.

Duties:

As an EPC Team Lead for LSS, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Overseeing the EPC staff and operations. Assisting in the development, evaluation, and modification of methodologies and procedures for manipulating files for use with commercial-off-the-shelf products and litigation support applications. Reviewing current procedures and providing input on changes to those procedures if warranted. Performing tasks related to exporting data from contractor and Division databases. Ensuring any projects sent offsite for data processing are on time, on budget, and within scope based upon the request for proposal submission. Performing and training others on file manipulation, loading, conversion services, database indexing, and quality checks of loads. Working with LSS Information Technology staff to create dynamic reporting capabilities that leverage existing tools, such as PowerBI, to track processing and loading statistics. Using reports to analyze processing and loading statistics for bottlenecks and surge activity and coordinating with vendors and LSS management to resolve roadblocks. Conducting regular EPC production status meetings and holding technical requirements meetings. Ensuring case priorities are appropriately assigned out, tracked and reported, and that delays are identified promptly to LSS management. Monitoring staffing ratios to data volumes received or expected to balance the workload and maintain less than a two-day backlog for loading requests. Reviewing requests for production to ensure vendors have clear instructions and the timing of returns are properly calculated. Preparing regular status reports for LSS and Front Office management. Keeping abreast of state-of-the-art information processing technology and methodologies and making recommendations for the application of these techniques to improve Division litigation support tools and systems. Maintaining constant professional awareness of the fluctuating information demands of the Division. Qualifications:

To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must demonstrate the qualifications listed below: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. This experience must be identified in your resume. Examples of GS-11 level specialized experience include: Overseeing the work of others in an eDiscovery environment; Ensuring automated legal case management system projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner; Assessing the performance of others; Assigning tasks to others based on priorities set by management; Notifying management of project problems or delays; Adapting or modifying existing, standard approaches and procedures; and Presenting recommendations to management on possible resolutions and process changes or improvements to the technology being used.
