Supervising Paralegal – eDiscovery

The Supervisory Paralegal is an advanced legal professional that will directly support attorneys at all stages of civil litigation from inception to trial. In addition to performing litigation paralegal services, the person who fills this position will be responsible for supervising a staff of litigation paralegals; coordinating litigation paralegal workflow; managing eDiscovery projects, and assisting attorneys at every stage of litigation. The ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, and manage workloads with a positive attitude and minimal supervision is necessary. Experience preparing for and attending trials/arbitrations/hearings is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience developing and maintaining processes to collect, store, and maintain electronic case files
  • Familiarity with ESI Discovery processes
  • Ability to utilize applications such as IPro Eclipse or Relativity to assist with the electronic discovery process, tagging, indexing, and organizing of large volumes of discovery
  • Work with the eDiscovery Manager to set up processes to facilitate the review of documents in eDiscovery Databases for privilege or relevance
  • Knowledge of TextMap or related programs to review and issue code depositions
  • Utilize eDiscovery applications to assemble document productions
  • Analyze legal decisions, opinions, rulings, memorandums, and other legal material relating to the nature of the case assignment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience coordinating trial/arbitration logistics, including setting-up courtroom; working with trial vendors, and setting up remote office space
  • Organize and maintain client and attorney documents relating to the management of the case
  • Assist attorneys to prepare for depositions and hearings
  • Facility with attorney-client, attorney work product, and other privileges sufficient to assist in creating privilege logs

Requirements:

  • Requires a paralegal certificate AND significant civil litigation experience
  • Candidates must also have eDiscovery litigation support experience
  • Must have knowledge of Federal and State court systems
  • Applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to synthesize and summarize large amounts of information contained in deposition transcripts, document productions, and other resources
