eDiscovery Senior Project Manager

Our client, a law firm ranked nationally by the most respected industry guides, is seeking an eDiscovery Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple engagements through the electronic discovery lifecycle, focusing on large, high-profile and complex matters. The Senior Project Manager will identify and implement defensible, repeatable processes, provide reporting, and document enhancements to decrease risk, improve service quality and promote customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with legal teams and firm clients in all aspects of the electronic discovery process, through each phase of the EDRM, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review, and production of electronically stored information (ESI) and recommending appropriate solutions related to these processes. The ideal candidate will have expert-level knowledge and practical experience with eDiscovery-related products and applications, specifically Relativity. You will have a high-level knowledge of eDiscovery-related analytics offerings and processes, including RAL, CMML, and TAR and the ability to consult with clients and legal teams on use cases and practical application of each. Candidates with an eDiscovery-related certification(s) and previous law firm experience will be moved to the front of the line. A bachelor’s degree is required, and a JD is preferred.

SUMMARY:
The primary duty of this role is to utilize eDiscovery and Project Management expertise and best practices to collaborate and work seamlessly with firm associates and partners in the delivery of world-class discovery services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • eDiscovery Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple engagements through the electronic discovery lifecycle, focusing on large, high-profile and complex matters
  • Identifying and implementing defensible, repeatable processes, providing reporting, and documentation enhancements to decrease risk, improve service quality and promote customer satisfaction
  • Collaborating with legal teams and firm clients in all aspects of the electronic discovery process, through each phase of the EDRM, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review, and production of electronically stored information (ESI) and recommending appropriate solutions related to these processes
  • Using sound project management skills and knowledge to assist with planning and management of ESI, including preparing budgets, project plans, data maps, matter workflows, production planning and projections
  • Reporting to legal teams and clients regarding relevant eDiscovery-related metrics and providing recommendations for improvements
  • Participating in and leading eDiscovery education, including technical and substantive training for legal teams, clients and firm colleagues
  • Maintaining current expertise and certification with relevant eDiscovery tools and providing recommendations and support for each
  • Managing eDiscovery vendors, including assisting with vendor selection, coordinating vendor contacts and overseeing vendor deliverables
  • Assisting with preparations for Rule 26(f) conferences, including technical review of eDiscovery Plans

  • Expert-level knowledge and practical experience with eDiscovery-related products and applications, including Relativity, Concordance, Brainspace (Reveal), LAW, Nuix, Blackout and others
  • High-level knowledge of eDiscovery-related analytics offerings and processes, including RAL, CMML, TAR and the ability to consult with clients and legal teams on use cases and practical application of each
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical requirements into simple concepts, tailored for varied audiences
  • Strong issue-spotting and problem-solving skills with the experience and ability to offer repeatable, defensible and practical solutions
  • High aptitude for delivering in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • The ability to handle stress with poise and to be assertive with tact when needed
  • The ability to collaborate on process improvements and affidavit-quality documentation efforts and the interest in implementing continuous improvement plans

  • Commitment to continuous professional development, including training and certifications in eDiscovery tools and methodologies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor preferred
  • eDiscovery-related certifications and previous law-firm experience preferred
  • Several years of experience managing and consulting on discovery engagements
  • High-level eDiscovery technical abilities, specifically related to Relativity and Brainspace (Reveal), LAW and NUIX, helpful
  • Current knowledge of eDiscovery standards and the ability to communicate those evolving standards effectively
  • High-developed organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Consultative and client-facing

Expected salary for this exempt role is $165,000 – $185,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
