Associate Director, eDiscovery and Data Advisory
SCB is currently recruiting for an eDiscovery Associate Director to join it’s Legal eDiscovery & Data Advisory (“eDDA”) team. Sitting in the heart of the Legal function, the successful candidate will be joining an experienced in-house team of data, forensic and legal experts and will be pivotal to delivering a successful data journey for our Investigation, Litigation & Regulatory matters.
To be successful in this role you must have had at least 3 – 4 years of total experience in the eDiscovery space. You must be well rounded and need to both understand how to use the latest technology to design and deliver eDiscovery workflows whilst being able to independently lead an eDiscovery review for our Legal stakeholders. Your breadth and understanding of eDiscovery and its related applications to the Legal space will be key to be successful in this role.
- Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability, and integrity, providing timely, responsive, and quality support to enable the Bank to achieve its strategic objectives.
- Deliver the Legal functions Investigation and Legal eDiscovery matters.
- Provide timely advice to our Lawyers and Investigators on aspects of relevant legal discovery and disclosure frameworks.
- Support the team in ensuring the function remains aligned to the relevant Risk Management Framework.
- Work with our external service providers to execute time-sensitive managed document review.
- Supporting our Lawyers and Investigators in all aspects of eDiscovery and acting as a trusted subject matter expert. You will support the development of proportionate Legal data review methodologies and provide expert solutions to support our matters.
- Assist in the execution of data collections from the Banks systems in a quality controlled and documented manner.
- Ensure the functions eDiscovery practice is carried out in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for execution of matters on our “Relativity” eDiscovery review platform and provide training to other members of the function as and when required.
- Support the Head of eDiscovery, Operations & Analytics, in collation of MI, ensuring relevant management information and key performance indicators are provided to all key internal stakeholders.
- Support the eDDA teams innovation pillar, ensuring we always have the right technology to support our stakeholders.
- Act to minimise operational loss, audit failures, and take proactive measures to respond to matters arising.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in an eDiscovery role independently managing large Legal or Investigation eDiscovery matters and with a proven ability to assess competing priorities and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
- Experience across the whole Electronic Data Reference Model (EDRM) including a strong understanding of eDiscovery concepts and the adoption and utilisation of technology.
- An excellent understanding of the legal eDiscovery framework including the relevant legal standards.
- Substantial experience working in a client / stakeholder facing role, with the ability to independently lead and deliver solutions and translate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Proficient in the use of Relativity and an expert understanding of the fundamental concepts of eDiscovery review systems.
- Basic understanding of digital forensic practices
- Demonstrated Legal Project Management experience
