About the FTI Technology Practice:

Our Technology practice uses our people and our technology to help clients identify, collect, analyse, and review electronic documents and data to locate the key evidence. Increasingly we also help clients to proactively manage and govern their data compliantly to reduce risk and cost.  Our team of over 500 professionals around the world includes e-discovery and information governance experts, software developers and forensic specialists. They’re industry leaders, and have been involved in some of the largest e-discovery matters of the past decade, which means they have the experience to help clients whatever their challenges.
About the Role:

FTI Information Governance, Privacy and Security Services (“IGPS”) practice is designed to help organizations better manage their information. Based on the Information Governance Reference Model, FTI Technology’s IGPS is a fast growing practice that has launched several consulting offerings designed to both minimize risk as well as reduce costs associated with the creation, sharing, use, production and disposal of information. When combined with FTI’s range of experts around the globe, this practice provides great strategic value to FTI’s clients.

As IGPS is an emerging market, delivery of our services requires both high level strategic problem solving and meticulous attention to detail. In this role, you will be engaged in a variety of strategic programmes where you will provide strategic and technical guidance to client organizations around IG and Privacy related engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support critical delivery of advisory and technical implementation projects in the IGPS space for corporations, law firms and government entities.
  • Lead time critical technical projects which may involve data normalisation, data cleansing, data mapping, data transformation, application implementation projects which may involve a combination of enterprise tools, excel, SQL, access, Visio and other tools.
  • Strong technical skills and exposure to a variety of enterprise technology and architectures
  • Lead privacy and maturity assessments, ability to work with diverse client stakeholders across technical, legal and functional stakeholders and identify and document potential technical and security related control gaps.
  • Undertake Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and assess risk associated with cross border data transfers, security and data protection
  • Develop and adapt challenging and ever-changing workflows within fast-paced projects
  • Support implementing tooling solutions for privacy workflows such as DPIAS and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs)
  • Supporting business development opportunities
  • Develop technology blue prints, target operating models, and data mapping documents
  • Utilise file analysis and structured data archiving tools to perform technical data assessments and perform remediation across diverse data sets (unstructured, structured, cloud, etc. ) as required to assist with compliance programmes
  • Be client service-oriented to meet client deadlines, including working out of business hours when necessary
  • Responsible for day to day client engagement and follow up, interaction with other consultants, 3rd party suppliers, and internal FTI stakeholders.

Education & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2:1 BA/BSc degree or equivalent in a legal, technology or numerate subject
  • Technical education and certifications preferred
  • IAPP certifications such as CIPPE, CIPM, CIPT preferred
  • Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s)

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong understanding of privacy principles and privacy operations. Knowledge of Privacy, eDiscovery and/or data review platforms
  • Strong communication skills and Excellent communication and client presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) with attention to detail and a focus on quality of work
  • Strong technical expertise in manipulation and management of data with ability to quickly learn and operate new tools as required by client
  • Ability to learn new technologies and comfort in a diverse, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to listen to diverse client requirements and make pragmatic recommendations and ability to produced client polished deliverables/work products
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including an understanding of how to interpret business requirements and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Self-starter that demonstrates an ability to quickly solve complex problems with a client-oriented approach, with well thought out innovative solutions
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment as well as to work effectively as part of a team and support the team’s goals above individual goals
  • Ability to think clearly under pressure and be solution oriented with clients
  • Strong logical reasoning skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Exposure or use of tools such as Onetrust, TrustArc, Exterro, Office365, IBM Atlas, Nymity, Nuix, Relativity, StoredIQ, Tableau, SQL and Visio.
  • Arabic Language and experience with financial services, insurance, healthcare industries are a plus
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally when required and in some instances on short notice
  • Appreciation of working across a diverse European geography and in a global environment


  • Significant experience in a client facing, management consultancy role working with regulated or large corporate environments
  • Preferred experience in dealing with regulated industries such as financial services, legal, insurance or life sciences
  • Experience working in the Middle Eastern Market
  • Experience working on global privacy programmes, including GDPR and CCPA and handling personal data
  • Positions or experience with corporate data environments, legacy data environment, databases and/or security experience preferred
  • Experience of handling large, diverse and complex data sets in a corporate environment
  • Experience in developing complex data environments and workflows preferred; Experience in personal data identification projects a plus.
  • Experience with privacy impact assessments and privacy risk remediation efforts
  • Direct client experience with strong SQL, database development and/or data normalization projects
  • Client experience on GDPR, privacy, or security related projects preferred
  • Experience of information-related frameworks, standards, codes and methodologies
  • Drafting and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Experience with machine learning methods
  • Business development and commercial awareness
  • Agile and waterfall methodology concepts and experience
