Position: Strategic Sales Engineer

Reports To: Vice President, Strategic Sales Engineering

Location: Sydney, Australia

Job Overview

The Strategic Sales Engineer is responsible for providing product demonstrations of Reveal’s eDiscovery platform to law firms, corporations, government agencies, and third-party service providers.  This highly technical sales role will have an excellent understanding of all facets of Reveal software and be able to clearly articulate how the software works and why Reveal is the premier eDiscovery platform available. The successful candidate will have previous eDiscovery experience and a proven track record of driving growth.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Present the Reveal platform to current and prospective customers with a master understanding of all functionalities, workflows, competitive differentiators, and customization capabilities.
  • Lead training of new customers and prospective customers engaged in a pilot of Reveal software.
  • Provide feedback to technology and sales leadership related to customer and prospect questions and concerns presented during product demonstrations.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for prospective customers in a software pilot including, but not limited to, training, initial setup, and Q&A to ensure a successful experience and positive outcome.
  • Clearly articulate key messaging regarding the company, product, and vision for disrupting the eDiscovery and investigations software market.
  • Collaborate with sales and client services teams for positive customer and prospect experiences.
  • Consistently maintain a high level of meeting activity with a target of five product demos per week.
  • Understand prospect needs and effectively communicate Reveal’s solution set.
  • Stay current on eDiscovery market trends and competitor strategies.


  • Consistently ranked as a top performer in sales engineering roles.
  • Exceptional verbal communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to converse with prospects at all levels, including the executive level.
  • Detail oriented with a capacity to manage multiple, simultaneous sales cycles.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment to prospect and develop new business.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify and solve problems quickly, decisively, and independently.
  • Professional mannerisms and appearance.
  • Ability to travel as required

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in eDiscovery sales engineering or consulting.
  • 5+ years in eDiscovery or legal software industry.
