The Senior Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Governance Consultant is on the AI and Data Transformation Department’s Information Governance Team and will establish new capabilities in AI and Data Transformation by developing and executing records, data, and information retention strategy, retention schedules, training opportunities, and implementing processes to inventory, retain, or purge Company records. This role will collaborate with various Stakeholders such as Legal, Tech Architecture, Data Governance, Integrated Data Foundation, People, Marketing to establish new capabilities that foster a culture of care and concern for securing our enterprise-wide information while harnessing its full value. This Senior AI and Information Governance Consultant is a detail-oriented problem solver that is ready to execute comprehensive strategies for the Company and help to pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.

- Build capabilities and governance around new and existing strategic programs, such as AI Governance, Records and Information Management, and Privacy, including an operating model that manages a portfolio of strategic projects and leads the steering committee to effect communication and decision making in the execution of the portfolio
- Lead overall development of program’s strategic roadmap and key initiatives: building of an enterprise data inventory, policy framework, formal training and awareness, and enhancement of information security
- Lead business processes to enable proactive identification of risks and compliance requirements early in business process and technology implementation, monitoring compliance with requirements, and support development of training and communications
- Provide leadership and organization for program council to set the overall direction for major policy decisions
- Provide program management support to manage all aspects of program, including forums, external resources, and subject matter experts
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with program stakeholders; organize the program team to drive decisions and progress across individual projects that ladder up to the program roadmap
- Lead the collaboration with Technology and Legal Departments, along with other stakeholders, to evaluate and implement software or tools to streamline processes related to information, data, and record classification and knowledge management
- Serve as a subject matter expert on areas of information governance, such as privacy, records and information, and artificial intelligence

- Expert skill in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Preferred: Records and Information Management or IG certifications
- Preferred: Understanding of the Information Governance Reference Model (IGRM), eDiscovery Reference Model (EDRM), data governance principles, and AI frameworks (IAPP and NIST)
- Expert-level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
- Consulting, program management, and cross-functional enterprise strategic projects

- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $137,250 – $152,500 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
