This position is the entry level role for the eDiscovery team. The primary function of this role is to provide preservation and collection support to the eDiscovery team and the General Counsel’s Office as a whole. Preservation and collection activity will be for data stored in our primary systems of record at the Firm, and collection will be in support of requirements to produce the data to individuals outside the firm upon legally sufficient requests.
Essential Duties
- Perform preservations and forensic collections of data using only approved acquisition tools, label evidence, and track collections and processing/productions.(60% of time)
- Design and execute search strategies to locate, recover, verify, and organize potentially responsive ESI in connection with investigatory and litigation work. Maintain defensible deletion processes for the same. (10% of time)
- Compile and complete documentation throughout the lifecycle of the legal matter which may include, but is not limited to, preservation, collection notes, verification results, collection errors, and resolution steps. (10% of time)
- Work on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support, as needed. (5% of time)
- Maintain and perform periodic review of detailed documented processes and communication protocols with key stakeholders.(5% of time)
- Consult regularly with team members and stakeholders.(5% of time)
- Any other duties as assigned. (5% of time)
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- College Degree preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure and data life cycle management concepts.
- Experience working in environments that can be hectic with a call for multi-tasking.
- Strong communication skills.
- Confident with a personality of “I Can Do & I Can Help”.
- Understanding of litigation and investigation processes and eDiscovery, including but not limited to data preservation, collection, processing, legal holds, and review standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to communicate complex technical details to unfamiliar audiences.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate with personnel at all levels.
- Ability to manage a multitude of projects and/or problems, including complex issues that require collaboration between users, IT support, and vendors to ensure a timely response or resolution.
- Must be able to maintain professionalism under pressure.
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS
- Comfortable with most software applications and databases and the ability to learn new software applications quickly (Required).
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Required)
- OneDrive experience (Preferred)
- Caseware and iManage experience (Preferred)

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $64,200 – $106,700
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
