Do you have a solid track record of handling complex budgeting processes and data governance within a legal framework? This is an essential skill we need in the role. The Sr. Director of Legal Data & Technical Transformation will be a strategic problem solver who understands that the key to remaining at the cutting edge of operational excellence lies in a well-structured, data-driven base. This role is for a leader who can navigate the intricacies of legal processes, harness the power of data, and introduce solutions that are both innovative and deeply integrated with the department’s core operations.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Pioneering Impact: As the Senior Director, you’ll drive the transformation of our legal operations. Your technical competence and strategic approach will be instrumental in building a sophisticated legal data infrastructure.
- Data-Driven Innovation: Be at the forefront of next-generation legal technology. Champion a data/process-first approach, ensuring that our technology implementations align with efficient processes and strategic objectives.
- AI and BI Strategies: Shape the future by guiding our AI and business intelligence strategies. Leverage data and technology to generate insights, optimize outcomes, and bring value.
Strategic Vision:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for technical advancement and optimal data utilization within the legal department.
- Incorporate best practices in data governance and information governance strategies.
Technology Implementation:
- Guide intentional implementation of technology solutions that enhance existing data and process infrastructure.
- Ensure seamless integration and compatibility.
Process Optimization:
- Identify inefficiencies using data-driven insights.
- Implement automation and process improvements where possible.
Innovation and Change:
- Drive transformative change within the legal department.
- Advocate for agility and efficiency while navigating complex challenges.
Data Environment:
- Lead all aspects of the consolidation of disparate data sources into a cohesive environment.
- Enable sophisticated analytics and informed decision-making.
Compliance and Innovation:
- Ensure technology solutions follow legal standards and best practices.
- Leverage deep understanding of legal systems and technical knowledge.
Accountability and Progress:
- Carry out accountability measures with collaborators.
- Push boundaries to achieve operational excellence.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in relevant field
- At least 7 years of experience in legal operations with a focus on process optimization, technology integration, and strategy planning.
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
Additional Preferences
- Consulting experience in these domains, including eDiscovery, IP Operations, Finance, Matter, and Knowledge Management, is highly valued.
- Demonstrate resilience and transformative leadership in motivating change, capable of leading complex projects, overcoming obstacles, and leading multi-functional teams toward shared goals.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of automation, GenAI applications, and the ability to manage day-to-day interactions with IT departments, ensuring accountability and performance.
Additional Information
Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $144,000 to $211,200 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
