The eDiscovery Team within Law Administration provides cross-functional, enterprise support and expertise regarding preservation, collection and document and data review strategies for litigation, arbitration, government inquiries, internal investigations, subpoenas and divestitures and acquisitions. The Team communicates, coordinates, and reinforces the consistent application of Chevron eDiscovery strategies, the use of Law Function recommended discovery tools and applications, and facilitates collaboration among the teams involved in the various matters, including in-house and outside counsel, IT-Forensics, Legal Analysts, third party service providers, business partners and Company employees to ensure timely and consistent application of our processes and best practices.

The eDiscovery Collections Analyst will be dedicated to, and assist, the eDiscovery Project Manager on a large litigation docket. Will be expected to conduct eDiscovery tasks related to all parts of the EDRM Model – including collecting, processing, extracting, converting, manipulating and producing eDiscovery data utilizing eDiscovery software and forensic tools. This role requires a high level of attention to details with expectation that they will handle ongoing data tracking of projects.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Collaborate closely with eDiscovery Project Manager (eDPM) and other team members to provide case team with optimal technology solutions on completing document collections in a fast pace, deadline-driven environment.

  • Develop, document, and refine collection procedures to accomplish discovery process requirements with a high level of detail

  • Work closely with eDiscovery Management on finalizing documentation on all collection procedures.

  • Assist with project files including preparing both internal and external memoranda as appropriate (as it relates to ongoing eDiscovery project)

  • Draft basis search syntax and consult with legal team as necessary to identify pertinent documents.

  • Perform quality checks on work product.  Including generating and analyzing collection and processing reports and exception handling.

  • Utilize Oxygen Forensics for mobile device collections

  • Decrypt and search SMIME data using internal tools and Nuix Workstation.

  • Carefully track and monitor tasks to ensure completion by stated deadlines.

  • Support vendor management, including ensuring deliverables meet requested specifications and are delivered on schedule.

  • Preform other assigned tasks and duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5-7 years of eDiscovery experience

  • Extensive experience collecting O365 data using Purview (Standard and Premium) is required.

  • Knowledge with using industry standard forensic tools such as: Nuix, FTK, EnCase, Cellebrite and Oxygen

  • General understanding of Windows filesystems, mobile devices, and encryption.

  • General knowledge of litigation support applications (e.g. Relativity, Nuix)

  • Must demonstrate an extreme attention to detail and organization

  • Needs to maintain professionalism, personal integrity, and high degree of confidentiality.

  • Must be a self-starter who can work within a team environment but also independently.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully in both verbally and in written format to legal team, eDiscovery team and service providers, on technical/non-technical information.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive solutions-oriented approach to dealing with multiple requests with very strict deadlines.

  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Understanding of the electronic discovery reference model (EDRM)

  • Bachelor’s degree. (Significant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
