Job Description Summary
This role will perform systems engineering tasks related to project delivery and 3rd-tier support of Cardinal Health’s productivity and collaboration technologies used by 40,000+ associates globally. The Client Productivity and Collaboration team supports all aspects of Office 365 and other business productivity tools used by the company.
Areas of focus for this role include being a subject matter expert in productivity solutions for the company, design and execution of medium to complex projects and tasks, streamlining and optimizing business processes using the productivity and collaboration tools, troubleshooting and support of complex issues, maintaining documentation, and training/mentoring clients within the organization as well as team members. This role is a subject matter expert. This is a highly cross-functional role that will be exposed to a wide variety of platforms and integrations.
Job Description
IT Client Services provides Tier 1-3 support to the organization’s end users for software, hardware, conference room technology and meeting support, warehouse technology, server, network, and enterprise systems issues. IT Client Services maintains ownership for certain end user productivity platforms and capabilities, such as virtual environments and collaboration toolsets, and addresses service outages. The IT Client Services organization is responsible for end user compute engineering, virtualization, meeting technologies, and productivity/collaboration engineering.
The specific responsibilities of this role include:
- Deliver subject matter expertise of Office 365 and other related productivity and collaboration technologies supported by Cardinal Health
- Emphasis in architectural design, migration, security, management and support of implementations.
- Demonstrate consultative capabilities by providing value added information and complex solutions to clients for connecting technology and the business value of Office 365.
- Drive Office 365 adoption and lead technical effort to deliver productivity and collaboration solutions to the business.
- Lead and participate in ongoing Office 365 governance and strategy discussions.
- Stay current of all things Office 365, including changes & updates, roadmap & releases, and third-party solutions.
- Help troubleshoot complex issues escalated from less experienced team members.
- Document system configurations, standards and procedures.
- Mentor and cross-train other team members.
- Occasional night/weekend work to support project initiatives
- Participate in 24/7 oncall rotation
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Office 365 tenant administration and configuration
Email solutions: Exchange Online; Exchange 2016
Email Security solutions: Cisco Email Security Gateway; ProofPoint; Defender for Office 365
File sharing and collaboration tools (OneDrive for Business; Teams; SharePoint; Box.com)
Identity solutions and governance: Active Directory Federation Services; Microsoft Entra; Entra Connect; Entra application registrations; Entra Application Proxy; RBAC Permissions
Microsoft Office (desktop; web; mobile clients)
Compliance solutions: Microsoft Purview; Data Loss Prevention, Archiving, eDiscovery
Microsoft Defender for Office 365
PowerShell Scripting and API Programming
Telecom knowledge (Skype for Business; Skype Online; Teams; Zoom) is a plus
Office 365 data migration tools such as Quest and ShareGate is a plus
Whiteboarding and Visual Diagramming tools such as Visio and Lucid Suite is a plus
Qualifications
Bachelor in Computer Science or in related field or equivalent work experience
8+ years of experience in an enterprise environment supporting productivity and collaboration technologies including Office 365 tenant administration, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams; OneDrive for Business; Windows Server, Active Directory, Zoom, and Active Directory Federation Services; Microsoft Entra; Microsoft Purview; Microsoft Defender
4+ years of experience with Windows PowerShell scripting and other scripting skills and/or programming skills used to automate processes and reporting
Strong knowledge of server platforms, storage infrastructure, and networking protocols.
Industry certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, MCF, MCE, MOS, Server+, Network+, A+ are not required but highly preferred.
ITIL Experience
Excellent research and troubleshooting skills
Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, and self-sufficient.
Able to work independently and with others.
Strong business writing and verbal communication skills.
