Job Description: Senior Technical Specialist, Forensics

The Senior Technical Specialist, Forensics will serve as a leader in successfully managing the assigned client relationship through effective project management, data collection, coordination and execution.  Successful candidates must have a professional background in the electronic discovery industry and the aspiration to successfully manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

A Senior Technical Specialist should take point / be involved in the following areas and specific tasks:

  • Serve as team leader by assessing and developing employees through continuous training and mentoring
  • Instill confidence with the client and serves as a primary face of Epiq’s high-quality collections onsite offering
  • Identify areas for improvement in process on internal workflow and projects in a solution-oriented fashion
  • Demonstrate leadership to both the client and internal partners, delivering project objectives professionally and with high quality
  • Participate in consultations with Legal Project Managers and internal client stakeholders to discuss project specifications, workflow and/or issues
  • Perform data collections using industry standard tools such as Discovery Accelerator, Discovery Attender, EnCase, Forensic Toolkit, Cellebrite, Microsoft M365
  • Maintain proper chain of custody at all times
  • Export and package deliverables for review platforms or subsequent processing
  • Provide troubleshooting services to clients
  • Develop, enhance and maintain operational processes and procedures to ensure a consistent, correct, complete and timely collection and processing of specified sources
  • Provide daily status reports to Legal Project Managers
  • Document actions taken while performing data collection and processing tasks
  • Maintain tracking reports for all data collected and processed
  • Potentially work additional hours beyond regular schedule to meet customer commitments which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Perform other litigation support tasks as necessary

Required Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Qualification in forensic computer examination (CFCE, EnCE, CCE etc.) advantageous
  • Experience/knowledge of industry standard litigation support databases/tools
  • An understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment both as a team player and independently
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously from a technical and client facing aspect
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking and problem solving with keen eye for detail
  • Ability to create documentation on complicated tasks to create repeatable processes 

We are seeking a superior candidate for this unique role.  As a result, we require the following background in candidates selected for this opportunity:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Forensics or Forensic accreditations a plus;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in technology consulting, litigation support, Forensic analysis or with an eDiscovery service provider
