    Job purpose

    To support Control Risks global Legal Technology team by undertaking tasks related to data handling for our eDiscovery processes. This includes facilitating the processing of data by performing Data Intake work; receiving and staging data for processing through to delivering data produced from litigation review platforms to third parties – tasks associated with the beginning and end of the EDRM lifecycle.

    You will work closely with the Associate Director of our EMEA Legal Tech team to fulfill ongoing project requirements and build efficiencies and best practices in data handling. You will act as a primary point of contact to internal teams including the Project Management and IT Forensic Teams and perform data handling tasks including maintaining chain of custody documentation, data logging and reporting.

    Tasks and responsibilities

    • Receiving data for processing including downloading data from FTP sites and    Document Management Systems
    • Performing data transfer and staging data for processing
    • Undertaking basic forensic preservation tasks
    • Uploading data to Control Risks FTP and third-party sites
    • Performing chain of custody and data integrity checks
    • Performing QC tasks
    • Performing data logging, documentation and reporting tasks
    • Maintaining media logs and inventory. Updating data processing logs.
    • Reviewing processing exceptions
    • Ongoing review of data storage and undertaking data archiving and destruction tasks
    • Assisting with forecasting and billing requirements by tracking and reporting on data volumes
    • Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours including evenings and weekends as project needs dictate

    Knowledge and experience
    Essential

    • Excellent IT proficiency including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
    • Good communication skills
    • Able to quickly pick up new skills
    • Be pro-active, organised and methodological
    • Able to trouble-shoot, quickly adapt workflows and think outside the box

    Preferred

    • Experience of MS DOS and PowerShell
    • Knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model
    • Experience in cloud systems such as Office 365, AWS
    • Experience in use of tools such as Robocopy, 7zip, FileZilla, Treesize Pro and Notepad++
    • Knowledge of Nuix, Cellebrite, FTK, Encase and Forensic tools
    • Knowledge of Relativity
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills Scripting/Programming experience

    Qualifications and specialist skills

    • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
    • Educated to BSc in IT or similar technical degree
    • All-round skills and competence in using Microsoft Windows and Office applications
