The Associate Engagement Manager is responsible for supporting Engagement Managers leading cross-functional teams comprised of attorneys, linguists, and data scientists through complex client engagements ranging from Technology-Assisted Review (TAR) for production needs to Key Document Identification (KDI) for early case assessment, investigations, trial preparation, and depositions.  The Associate Engagement Manager will be responsible for managing internal and external aspects of the engagement based on demonstrated aptitude with increasing responsibilities over time.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Engagement Managers (EMs) leading client engagements on day-to-day execution tasks
  • Maintain the project schedule, manage inter-dependencies, and identify, escalate, and mitigate project risk.
  • Communicate project status, issues, risks, and changes to all project team members and management.
  • Gain experience scoping, planning, executing, and delivering Lighthouse TAR and search services utilizing our proprietary tools and processes.
  • Learn effective client and project management techniques and develop the mindset and skills of a successful client-focused consultant.
  • Initially serve as a back-up for the primary EM on projects. Over time, begin to manage engagements with oversight and support from more experienced EMs.
  • Build fluency with estimating models for various Lighthouse services, develop project budgets, and provide budget forecasts internally and externally.
  • Work with search and review leads and other EMs to understand staffing needs and effectively prioritize needs across projects.
  • Support sales enablement through tracking project metrics for use in case studies, forecasting models, and retrospectives.
  • Learn and employ EM-specific tools to perform required activities (Teams, OneNote, Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, OpenAir, JIRA/Insite, Salesforce, PowerBI)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND BEHAVIORS

  • Understanding of the full scope of the legal and eDiscovery lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of legal and eDiscovery technologies (e.g. EnCase, Ipro, Nuix, Relativity, Brainspace).
  • Effective at driving projects to completion in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to keep focus on the broader project scope and initiatives contemporaneously with company or segment-wide needs.
  • Ability to manage changing and conflicting internal and client priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus
  • 3+ years of legal technology or eDiscovery experience
  • Project management experience required; Knowledge of Python, SQL, SharePoint development, or other programming languages a bonus
  • Consulting or data science background preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone or video conference, and read printed material.
  • Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 20% of the time will be spent traveling.
  • Duties may require the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
